Basetsana Kumalo

Bassie, an inspiration to all ladies.

Starting as a South African beauty queen, winning Miss South Africa 1994 and becoming the first runner up at the Miss World.  This was just the start to winning over the South African public. She spent her time as Miss South Africa helping the community and raising funds for charities, in those moments she networked with many influential local and international people. This showed how eager she was to show off her entrepreneurial skills in a career.

Her greatest achievement till date is her company, Basetsana Women Investment Holdings which is 100% black owned and managed. The goal of the company is to empower and be a sign of hope for women and the South African youth. For Bassie, compassion and humility are guiding principles for lifting women and youth to rise up.

 To keep with her motto, she and her husband started the Romeo and Basetsana Kumalo Family Foundation . The purpose is help underprivileged and orphaned children. They not only love helping out, but love helping children to be specific. Making South Africa a better place for the youth of today is truly one of the aims and they surely are showing it.

Seeing what a difference Bassie makes for the women of today inspires me to help others in any ways I'm able to.
